Appointment to the Advisory Board of the Goethe-Institut

We congratulate our board member Prof. Dr. Olaf Bärenfänger on his appointment to the Language Advisory Board of the Goethe-Institut.

The Goethe-Institut promotes knowledge of the German language abroad and fosters international cultural cooperation. In doing so, it sets internationally significant standards for the teaching of “German as a foreign language” and, in addition to developing teaching materials and training teachers, focuses on scientific research and participation in language policy initiatives.

Starting in May 2021, Prof. Bärenfänger will advise the Goethe-Institut for a three-year term on all professional matters related to the promotion of the German language as well as language and education policy.
